Hi,
In that long list of info about obesity, some of the info is not
all that reliable. Much of it sounded like someone's opinion,
not backed up by fact.
the one fact which is correct is that obesity is a disease,
therefore people should not be made fun of. The only one who can
work with the obesity problem is the person who has it. It does
not help that person when someone is being judgmental, etc.
Whatever happened to loving the person anyway just as they are?
As far as weight loss surgery goes, it is not true that people
can eat whatever they want and it goes in one end and out the
other. This is totally simplistic and misleading. It can have
complications like any major surgery can, however, it has also
been life-saving for some people. One can only eat very small
amounts, protein first. Because malabsorbtion occurs, it is
important for one to take vitamin and mineral supplements for the
rest of his/her life. There are several types of weight-loss
surgery.
