West Virginia Golden Apple Salad

2 cups yellow apples, cubed
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup dates, halved and pitted
1/4 cup hickory-nut meats
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup orange marmalade
1 teaspoon salt

In a salad bowl, place the apples and add lemon juice and mix. Then
add the dates and hickory nuts.
In a separate small bowl, with a portable mixer whip heavy cream.
Then add mayonnaise to the cream. Pour over apple mixture.
Now add the marmalade and salt to the apple mixture. You want to
toss the ingredients a few times. Place in refrigerator and chill
until ready to serve.
